I had watched the movie before I read the book (Vi la película antes de leer el libro).

I had fallen asleep when the clock rang at 11 PM (Ya me había dormido cuando la alarma sonó a las 11 PM).

I had been happy in all my jobs until I got this one (Había sido feliz en todos mis trabajos hasta que entré a este).

I have started a new degree →She said she had started a new degree (Empecé una nueva carrera → Ella dijo que empezó una nueva carrera).

If you had told me before, I would have helped you (Si me hubieras dicho antes, yo te hubiera ayudado)

"Past perfect" + just

ü  *The train had just left when I arrived at the station.

ü  *She had just left the room when the police arrived.

*The bus had just arrived to the station when I bought my ticket

*The cat had just jumped over the wall, before the dog could catch it

  1. Presente Perfecto Simple
  2. Presente Perfecto Continuo
  3. Past Perfecto Simple
  4. Past Perfecto Continuo
  5. Futuro Perfecto Simple
  6. Futuro Perfecto Continuo

PRESENT PERFECT (PRESENTE PERFECTO):

USE

the Present perfect Simple is used, if an action happened in the past and there

is a connection to the present. This action has just stopped or is still going on.

There's no exact time expressed when the action happened.

Key words: already, just, yet, ever, never, for, since, so far, up to now,

not yet, lately, recently

I HAVE NEVER FLOWN IN A PLANE

HE HAS WORKED IN MANY DIFFERENTS MUSEUMS

I BECAME MORE TIMID  IN MY OLD AGE

THEIR ENGLISH HAS IMPROVED A LOT THIS YEAR

3. Se usa para los éxitos o logros.

OUR FOOTBALL TEAM HAS WON THE CHAMPIONSHIP THREE TIMES

los adverbios “yet” y “still”.

THE PLANE HASN`T ARRIVED YET

OUR TEAM HAS PLAYED 4 GAMES SO FAR THIS YEAR

I HAVE LOVED YOU SINCE THE DAY I MET YOU

Forma: Se forma con el verbo auxiliar "have" (have/has) seguido del participio

del verbo principal màs el complemento

AFFIRMATIVE  STRUCTURE

 SUBJECT  + [have/has] + Past participle + complement

EXAMPLE

1-I have traveled to many countries. (He viajado a muchos países.)

2-She has studied English for five years. (Ella ha estudiado inglés durante

cinco años.)

3-He has eaten lunch. (Él ha comido almuerzo.)

NEGATIVE

SUBJECT + HAVE/HAS+ NOT+ PAST PATICIPLE + COMPLEMENT

I HAVEN`T TALKED  TO PETER (no he hablado a peter)

WE HAVEN`T BEEN TO LONDON ( No hemos ido a LONDRE)

QUESTION

AUXILIARY HAVE/ HAS + SUBJECT+ PARTICIPLE

HAVE YOU TALK TO PETER?

HAVE YOU BEEN TO LONDON ?

In English grammar, the continuous tenses are used to describe

ongoing or continuous actions, events, or states at a specific

 time.

They indicate that an action is in progress or happening at a

 given moment.

There are three continuous tenses: present continuous, past

 continuous,  and future continuous.

continuos: presente continuo, pasado continuo y futuro continuo.)

EXAMPLE:  read  ___ reading
                    work  ___ working

    EXAMPLE:  write __ writing
                         come__ coming

 Exceptions: be__ being; go> going

EXAMPLE :        SEE> SEEING

EXAMPLE  : PLAY___ PLAYING

EXAMPLE : RUN__RUNNING

                    SWIM__SWIMMING

EXAMPLE: DIE ___ (morir)DYING
                    LIE ___ ( mentir)LYING

USAGE:

Describes actions or events that are happening at the

present moment or around the current time.

EX: He is having dinner right now.

days. Ej: He is currently looking for a flat.

3-Situaciones temporales o que están cambiando

 progresivamente.

EX: I’m getting better and better at speaking English .

4-Hábitos nuevos o temporales que normalmente suelen

ser molestos y van acompañados de always.

EX: My flat mate is always leaving the kitchen in a mess!

EX: I’m going to the cinema tonight.
