In English grammar, the continuous tenses are used to describe
ongoing
or continuous actions, events, or states at a specific
time.
They indicate that
an action is in progress or happening at a
given moment.
There are three
continuous tenses: present continuous, past
continuous, and future continuous.
(En gramática inglesa, los tiempos continuos se utilizan
para describir
acciones, eventos o estados continuos o en curso
en un momento específico.
Indican que una acción está en
progreso o sucediendo en un momento dado. Hay
tres tiempos
continuos: presente continuo, pasado continuo y futuro continuo.)

RULES (REGLAS DEL PRESENT CONTINUOUS)Para formar el present continuous usamos el verbo auxiliar «to be» y el verbo principal en infinito, al que agregamos el sufijo «-ing». Sin embargo, el resultado varía según la raíz del verbo:
1- Verbos que terminan en consonante: solo añadimos el sufijo -ing
EXAMPLE: read ___ reading
work ___ working
2- Verbos que terminan en vocal: se suprime la vocal y se reemplaza con -ing
EXAMPLE: write __ writing
come__ coming
Exceptions: be__ being; go> going
3- Verbos que terminan en vocal doble: se mantienen las vocales y se añade -ing
EXAMPLE : SEE> SEEING
4- Verbos que terminan en -y: se mantiene las vocales y se añade -ing.
EXAMPLE : PLAY___ PLAYING
5- Verbos monosilábico terminado por la secuencia consonante-vocal-consonante: se dobla la última consonante y se añade -ing
EXAMPLE : RUN__RUNNING
SWIM__SWIMMING
EXCEPTION : los verbos terminados en -y, -x -w NO doblan la última consonante (blow>blowing; fix> fixing)
6- Verbos terminados en -ie: se sustituye -ie por una -y + -ing.
EXAMPLE: DIE ___ (morir)DYING
LIE ___ ( mentir)LYING

mismo
tiempo que hablamos.

progresivamente.

suelen
ser molestos y van acompañados de always.
