WH QUESTIONS

LAS PREGUNTAS CON WH- SON AQUELLAS QUE SIRVEN PARA OBTENER INFORMACIÓN ESPECÍFICA SOBRE UN TEMA, PERSONA O SITUACIÓN DETERMINADA.

WH QUESTIONS SON UN GRUPO DE PREGUNTAS QUE SE CARACTERIZAN PORQUE EN SU NOMBRE TIENEN LAS LETRAS "WH-" AL INICIO, EXCEPTO POR UNO DE SUS CASOS. 

LAS WH QUESTIONS SON:

• What : qué o cuál
• Why : por qué
• When : cuándo
• Where : dónde
• Who : quién
• Which : cuál
• How : cómo             
  
  WHAT
• What» es la palabra de pregunta más común en el inglés,  Puede referirse a un objeto, una idea o una acción. En español, puede significar «qué» o «cuál».

What is that? – ¿Qué es eso?

What time is it? – ¿Qué hora es?

What’s your name? – ¿Cuál 

WHERE

Esta palabra se utiliza para preguntar información sobre un lugar. En español, «where» significa «dónde».

Where is the park? – ¿Dónde está el parque?

Where is the teddy bear? – ¿Dónde está el osito de peluche?

WHO

Who» significa «quién» y se utiliza para preguntar información sobre una persona.

Who is she? – ¿Quién es ella?

Who is your teacher? – ¿Quién es tu profesor/a?

WHEN

Si quieres  saber sobre un momento en específico, puede usar la palabra de pregunta «when«, la cual significa «cuándo»

When are we leaving? – ¿Cuándo nos vamos?

When do you go to school? – ¿Cuándo vas a la escuela?

WHY

«Why» significa «por qué», y se usa para preguntar la razón o propósito de algo.

Why are you learning English? – ¿Por qué estás aprendiendo inglés?

Why are there clouds in the sky? – ¿Por qué hay nubes en el cielo?

WHICH

«Which» es la palabra adecuada para preguntar sobre elecciones u opciones. Significa «cuál».

Which one do you like: the blue car or the green car? – ¿Cuál prefieres: el coche azul o el coche verde?
Which one of these dresses is yours? – ¿Cuál de estos vestidos es tuyo?

WHOSE

«Whose» se usa para preguntar y hablar de posesiones o pertenencias, y significa «de quién».

Whose book is this? – ¿De quién es este libro?

Whose house is it? – ¿De quién es esta casa?

HOW

Si bien «how» no comienza por wh- también es parte de las palabras de pregunta, incluso es una de las más usadas. Significa «cómo».

How are you? – ¿Cómo estás?

How was your lunch? – ¿Cómo estuvo tu comida?
